A completed vocational training is not required for this further education, but some institutions expect an internship, while others test for suitability. In this comprehensive course, participants will gain the §34a certification and be trained as fire safety and evacuation officers. The program is designed to be highly practical and provides all the knowledge required to work professionally, safely, and in full compliance with the law—without firearms training. The course begins with a thorough overview of the legal foundations of security work under §34a of the German Trade Regulation Act. Participants learn the duties and responsibilities of a security professional, how to identify risks, and how to assess situations correctly. A strong focus is placed on fire safety measures, fire prevention, and the practical implementation of safety concepts in various facilities and buildings. In addition, the course provides extensive training for the role of evacuation officer. Participants will learn how to plan, organize, and execute evacuations efficiently, safely guiding people in emergency situations. Practical exercises and realistic scenarios ensure that participants are fully prepared for on-site operations and develop the confidence to act decisively in emergencies. The course is ideal for new security personnel seeking solid, recognized training as well as for companies wishing to qualify their staff in fire safety and evacuation procedures. The hands-on approach ensures that participants are ready to take on responsibility and contribute effectively to the safety of people and property. A Class B driver’s license is advantageous, as mobile on-site assignments may be required. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a §34a certificate, including qualification as a fire safety and evacuation officer, enabling them to start working immediately in professional security roles.

The instruction according to §34a GewO is an alternative to the expertise examination according to §34a GewO, allowing you to work as a security employee in the security industry. The instruction according to §34a GewO is only conducted by the IHK and represents the minimum requirement for working in the security industry. For all activities that are not subject to the mandatory expertise examination according to §34a GewO, the instruction certificate is a prerequisite for practice. The further education in instruction according to §34a GewO for employees enables employment in a security company, such as object and plant protection, patrol service, cash and valuables transport, security courier services, reception service in object protection, event protection, personal protection, and investigation service.
